Law firm helping to take the headache out of HR issues

One of Wales’ largest independent law firms is hosting a series of free workshops to help local businesses stay ahead of employment law and HR issues.

JCP Solicitors is holding four completely free workshops at their Whitland office for local employers, with the second in the quartet focusing on the difficult issue of sickness and absenteeism on Thursday 10th May from 3:00-5:00pm.

The workshop, which will take place at JCP Solicitors’ office at Landsker Business Centre in Whitland, is intended for managers and assistants who handle human resources or office administration roles that deal with staff and will help to address the difficult and often sensitive subject of attendance at work.

Dealing with employee absenteeism through sickness and lateness is a difficult subject and if handled incorrectly can lead to disgruntled employees and issues within businesses.

The workshop is part of a human resource focused series, being run by Head of Human Resources Services at JCP Solicitors, Clare Bowen.

Clare said: “Managing employee absenteeism and lateness is a sensitive matter for businesses and if handled incorrectly can result in escalated issues and grievances against employers. This workshop aims to help businesses put the correct procedures in place to manage these situations and to make members of staff aware of the policies and procedures from the very start.”

Future free JCP Solicitors workshops will include ‘Understanding maternity and paternity’ and ‘Dealing with awkward situations in the workplace’.

To book a place at the free workshop email events@jcpsolicitors.co.ukor telephone 01994 503101.
