Law firm helping to take the headache out of HR issues
One of Wales’ largest independent law firms is hosting a series of free workshops to help local businesses stay ahead of employment law and HR issues.
JCP Solicitors is holding four completely free workshops at their Whitland office for local employers, with the third in the series looking at the regulations and procedures surrounding maternity and paternity leave.
The free event on Thursday 31st May from 3:00-5:00pm will highlight the recent changes introduced surrounding maternity and paternity leave and pay and aims to inform employers of the procedures and benefits that are available to their members of staff.
The workshop, which will take place at JCP Solicitors’ office at Landsker Business Centre in Whitland, is intended for managers and assistants who handle human resources or office administration roles that deal with staff.
The workshop is part of a human resource focused series, being run by Head of Human Resources Services at JCP Solicitors, Clare Bowen.
Clare said: “Maternity and more recently paternity entitlement is an issue which most employers will deal with at some point. Due to the changing nature of the regulations and entitlements for both parents, it is imperative that employers stay abreast of the changes surrounding this element of HR and take some time to understand fully what is expected of them as a business and the course of action employers and employees need to go through to make this pleasant time as streamlined as possible for all involved.”
The final workshop in the series will look at how to deal with awkward situations in the workplace and will take place on Thursday 14th June from 3:00-5:00pm.
